تأسس البنك التجارى الدولى (CIB) عام 1975

كما حصل البنك التجارى الدولى على لقب أفضل بنك في اطار جوائز التميز لعام 2013، والتي تمنحها مجلة يورومنى، وكذلك صفقة العام من مجلة ذا بانكر. كما منحته مجلة إيميافاينانس جائزة "أفضل بنك محلي" للعام الخامس على التوالي في عام 2012، وجائزة "أفضل مدير للأصول في مصر" للعام الثاني على التوالي، وفاز بلقب "أفضل مزود للعملات الأجنبية في الشرق الأوسط" من قبل جلوبال انفستورز 2012، غير جوائز "أفضل صفقة تمويل المشاريع في أفريقيا"، "أفضل صفقة موارد طبيعية في أفريقيا"، و"أفضل صفقة سندات في أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا".
بالإضافة لذلك، تلقى البنك العديد من الألقاب خلال عامي 2012 و2011. وتشمل "صفقة العام" و"بنك العام" للمرة الثالثة من مجلة ذا بانكر، كما قامت دورية جلوبال ترايد بمنح البنك التجارى الدولى لقب "أفضل بنك للتمويل التجاري في مصر".
